TygraBows specializes in 3 piece takedown bows. All of our bows can be built from almost any wood combination that you like. We match the draw weight and overall length of the bow to fit you. In addition, all of our bows are designed to provide a smooth draw and a shock-free release. All of our bows are laser aligned and sealed with the industry standard fullerplast clear coat to provide one of the best looking and most durable finishes around.
LongBows We build takedown longbows in basically 2 designs: 1) Traditional - Has only a slight amount of curve built into the limb end. Once strung, the limbs have the look of a typical English longbow with that nice even arc. They shoot smooth and true but usually have slightly less performance than the reflex deflex design. 2) Reflex Deflex - Has more curve baked into the ends of the limbs. Almost looks like a big recurve bow when it is unstrung. Once strung, the limbs tend to point more than an English longbow. The reflex deflex design is a very high performance design that, pound for pound, will cast an arrow faster and further. Due to demand, we are not making one piece longbows at this time. Recurves Our recurves are takedown models similar to our long bows but with a more modern design for higher performance. We make them in several lengths and of course in a variety of woods and weights. These are very fast and smooth shooting bows that we know you will love. TygraKids Children's Bows and Sets We are developing a line of take down bows for young shooters. They are very short, light weight and have big knobs for little hands. We have also assembled starter sets that include a takedown longbow, hip quiver, 3 carbon arrows (very sturdy), a glove, an arm guard, a colorful string and a TygraKids sticker. Arrows Since many of our customers are either new to archery or are buying their first traditional bow after years of shooting compounds, we have decided to offer custom arrows that are carefully matched to your bow. We typically prefer cedar shafts but can make custom arrows from any of the readily available shaft materials including pine and bamboo (when available). Our arrow making process includes sealing the shaft, dipping the tail in white, yellow, etc, cresting multiple stripes in your choice of colors and fletching in a variety of styles and lengths of either feathers or vanes.
